The Young
Entrepreneurs’ Program (YEP) at Long Beach City College focused on the importance of International Trade in a speaker presentation on August 6th.
The event was headlined by Wayne
Jepson, a member of the Port of Los Angeles International Trade
Academy Advisory Board and the International Network Director and Los
Angeles Station Manager for Norman Krieger Inc.
Mr. Jepson addresed students on “How to be the Superstar of
Your Own Life,” and presented a detailed presentation on the pros and cons of starting a business.
Presenting key strategies and common mistakes that are made in international business, Mr. Jepson shared some of his own
experiences with professional success and failure. Kimi Gros, instructor for the YEP
Program, praised Mr. Jepson for his “clarity, honesty, and passion.”
"The event was a positive step in directing students towards promising opportunities in international trade - whether through gainful employment or entrepreneurial efforts," commented Harlene Stanely, a consultant at International Trade Education Programs
"It is vital that we work hand in hand with programs like YEP to help high schools graduate job-ready and college prepared students in the international
